Roger, a statin user from London, was recently filmed discussing his views about statins and StatinWISE. The video will be coming to the website soon!
Here's what Roger had to say to the StatinWISE team:
“In my early fifties, I was found to have high cholesterol. My doctor explained that taking a statin tablet will help to reduce the cholesterol and the risk of nasties like heart attacks and strokes. After some time on the statin, I started to get muscle pain particularly in my right arm.
I saw my GP and the pain was thought to be due to the statin. However, I am not totally sure if it was. People like me need to have more information about whether statins can cause muscle pain or not. This will give the user like myself peace of mind and may encourage people who hesitate to take statins to do if the risks were more clearly defined”
